Nasal Endoscopy

Nasal Endoscopy is a simple, minimally invasive procedure where a thin, flexible tube with a camera (endoscope) is inserted into the nose. It allows the ENT specialist to clearly view the nasal passages and sinuses, helping in accurate diagnosis of blockages, infections, polyps, or other nasal problems.

Symptoms:
  • Persistent nasal blockage or stuffiness
  • Recurrent sinus infections
  • Nosebleeds
  • Loss or reduced sense of smell
  • Facial pain or headaches
  • Suspicion of nasal growths or polyps
Causes:
  • Chronic sinusitis or allergies
  • Nasal polyps or tumors
  • Deviated nasal septum (DNS)
  • Fungal or bacterial infections
  • Structural abnormalities inside the nose
Treatments

Nasal endoscopy is used both as a diagnostic tool and for minor procedures, such as:

  • Identifying infections or growths
  • Taking biopsies
  • Guiding sinus surgeries (Endoscopic Sinus Surgery)
  • Removing nasal polyps or foreign bodies
Prevention
  • Manage allergies with regular treatment to avoid chronic nasal inflammation.
  • Protect the nose from injuries.
  • Maintain good nasal hygiene with saline rinses when advised.
  • Seek early ENT consultation if you have repeated nasal or sinus symptoms.
